As you can see, his words mean nothing.

I’m not going to be looking at his words, I’m going to be watching his actions. I haven’t agreed that we’ll stay together at all. Like I said, he can’t move out right now so it’s a ‘wait and see what he does’ for now.

And so far, it’s not just words. He’s already put what he’s said he’s going to do in motion, which is why I’m willing to hold off on sending him to his mother’s for now where the kids wouldn’t be able to stay with him. That’s a last resort, emergency option for me.

Now I’m just watching to see how it all pans out, looking out for any backtracking, etc.

All of the AA programs we looked at in the area have very religious aspects to them, something he’s fully against and has been since I met him 17 years ago so that’s not going to be any good in this case. The therapist he’s found listed addiction as one of their specialties though.

Hi user,

My husband also has a problem
With alcohol and he has just found about this drug called naltrexone. It works similarly to ozempic. It stops you from getting a dopamine hit and you can get it through the NHS, it is only licensed for gambling addiction but has lots of evidence to helping break that addiction. It maybe something that can help.
